Runtime Error

An error appearing in a message box on a computer which consists of some particular codes along with their definitions is called as runtime error. It is generally noticeable that the speed of the computer tends to reduce before a runtime error appears.

It is common for the software showing the runtime error to generally freeze or maybe close after showing the error message. Under certain cases, the computer reboots.

There are many errors that can cause this problem:

· Software issues.

· TSR conflicts.

· Presence of harmful applications like viruses.

· Memory problems.

· Applications running alongside.

There are different methods to correct each different type of error. If TSR (terminate and Stay Resident Program) is the main cause behind your experiencing of the error, then the task manager may be run and its ‘end task’ function may be used.

The software displaying the runtime error may have problems in case the error remains persistent. Such problems can be resolved by installing the latest patches and updates relating to the software, from the site of the developer, to help in its smooth running. If after adopting this solution the problem continues to persist then the software may be re-installed.

Memory issues may also be the cause of these errors. The recommended solution in such cases is to get in touch with the developer of the particular application. Generally they are able to provide a decent solution to your problem. In case their solution also renders ineffective, then you should get in touch with the manufacturer of your PCs motherboard and request for someone to check your hardware.

Viruses and other harmful programs also cause runtime errors. Such programs can easily alter the computer’s settings. This can lead to a lot of runtime errors being generated. Frequent updating of security software of the computer is recommended so as to avoid such runtime errors. A good security software should be installed and your PC should be scanned for any such threats.
