To avoid this particular problem these files can be converted into one of the most used formats known as the MP3. Converting any file into a MP3 file depends on whether it was protected by DRM or not.
Conversion of Non-Protected Files –
iTunes can be used to convert files into MP3:
· Start iTunes
· Go to ‘Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Importing’ and change ‘Import Using’ into ‘MP3 Encoder’
· Save settings
· Select ‘Convert Selection to MP3’ after right-clicking onto a music track in the library. The conversion can be done if the track has not been protected. In case it is protected, then there will be a pop-up informing that a protected track can’t be converted.
Conversion of Protected Files –
· To convert protected files start with burning them to an audio disc.
· Open the audio disc and add all the files to your library using iTunes.
