XBOX Live

The online multiplayer gaming service that is run by the Microsoft Corporation, for Xbox users, is called Xbox Live. The pricing for playing any game is specific to each country. There are two versions available for the games viz. Xbox Live Silver and Xbox Live Gold. Xbox Live includes various amazing features like videochat, game achievements, mottos which can be displayed on profiles, multiplayer’s, avatars, friends list, the Xbox guide etc.

Xbox Live is not cheap. Still there are many methods by which one can be online and join the Live community for free. Some are mentioned below –

1) Free trial with a game

Few of the games available come with free Live trials but these trials are generally of duration of 48hrs and the games need to be purchased at the end of the trial.

2) Xbox live free trial

A two-month free trial card is given along with Xbox Live which contains all the information needed to be able to play free on the Xbox Live for full two months. How Xbox Live free trial can be used is given below –

i) A high speed internet access (like DSL or broadband) should be available.

ii) Locate the subscription code for the free trial which can be found at the bottom of the Trial Card which is included in the specially marked Xbox Live games which include games like Battlefield 2, Star Wars Battlefront etc.

iii) Create your account on connecting to Xbox live. Before signing up a method will be required to be chosen by you to create your account. There is instant setting up of you account with two months free gaming on Xbox Live.

However this trial subscription of yours is valid for two months only and to continue using these services online you shall be required to make the payments. The trial period cannot be extended for more than two months by using more than one trial cards.

3) Freebies

Free weekends are sometimes offered, by Microsoft, to members to play online without payment for a certain number of hours. However such free weekends are not common and are generally given when a corporate organization offers some sponsor. Other than this, Microsoft also offers few more benefits like the Microsoft Diamond Card, released by Microsoft for all their subscribers during last Christmas.

4) Giveaways

There are a few sellers who provide free giveaways but these generally last 48hrs and are for particular games only.

5) Free trial codes

Xbox Live codes can be found for free on various websites. Quite a few of these websites offer a lot of such codes in return for you visiting their sites and playing online there or submitting surveys or questionnaires for them. All these websites require you to register by creating your own login and password and you could be required to submit your personal information as well. On receiving your codes you would then be required to login into your Xbox Live account and then select Redeem Prepaid card on being asked to. Then you may enter your code and enjoy the benefits of Xbox Live.
