Active-X Installation

Net browsers like Internet Explorer automatically install Active-X. There is no requirement to perform a separate installation for Active-X in case you have Internet Explorer installed on your computer. However, configuring it may need to be done by you.

Configuring Active-X while using Internet Explorer

The following steps need to be followed for configuring Active-X in the Internet Explorer –

Ø  Go to the <Tools> drop-down menu.

Ø  Select <Internet options>.

There will be a default selection of Internet zone.

Ø  Follow any one path from the following :

1.      Select security settings individually by clicking on <Custom level>.

2.      Change the position of the slider bar by moving it up or down with the help of the mouse, to change the security level.

3.      Select <OK>.

Active-X Installation for Firefox

Browsers other than Internet Explorer, like Mozilla Firefox, generally do not support Active-X controls. Also Firefox supporting Active-X is highly unlikely ever.

However plug-ins specifically designed so as to support Active-X for legacy, custom as well as intranet solutions are available and third-party plug-ins such as Mozilla Active-X Plug-in can be downloaded.

Browsers such as Netscape and Firefox are supported by this plug-in.
